The ICF Team Coaching Competencies:

Team Coaching is one of the fastest growing aspects of the coaching profession and effective Team Coaches are becoming increasingly in demand across many organisations and sectors. To that end, and to be in service of quality and efficacy, ICF Credentialing and Standards has developed the ICF Team Coaching Competencies model. This model forms the foundation of the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) and sets the practitioner apart as an advanced professional in this growing and increasingly competitive space.

Our Diploma in Team Coaching provides you with a thorough and comprehensive exploration of these competencies, so that you not only understand them, you can also apply and integrate them into your team coaching practice. The modular, interactive, and practice based approach to this programme allows you to turn insight into action through peer exercises, self learning activities and real life engagement with the team(s) you are working with as you complete the programme.

The programme is designed to support you towards meeting the requirements of the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) and, when combined with our unique and powerful team method and diagnostics, you have everything you need to be a highly impactful  and sought after Team Coach!

The me:my™team method:

What is it?

A new generation methodology for working with teams to accelerate their performance with exceptional outcomes on a key business issue. Facilitation with a coaching ethos. The absolute focus of the me:my™team method is the aligned delivery of a business goal through a high performing team. It is designed to safely and objectively attend to the head, heart and gut contributions of the individual team members, and as one team body.

The process involves a series of short, potent team interventions to maintain and accelerate team performance, ensuring the team act between each session, sustaining momentum.

An integral part of this methodology is the ability to measure pre and post reality, against six key factors (6M) which enable team performance. These factors are carefully interwoven in the me:my™team diagnostic.

What are the 6M factors?

  1. Meaning: vision and purpose for the programme.
  2. Mindset: belief, confidence, and commitment to deliver the programme.
  3. Momentum: effective and efficient processes to be deployed.
  4. Motivation: energy and spark to innovate and engage.
  5. Measurement: execution and accountability.
  6. Membership: sense of inclusion, valuing unique contributions.

Where does the me:my™team method come from?

me:my™team method was originated by Karen Dean, MCC, author and founder of Exceptional Achievement. She has 30 years experience working in over 100 organisations across 11 sectors, worldwide. Karen is highly skilled in strategy complexity and seeking clarity from that. She has applied this to innovating tools and methods for teams as well as facilitators and coaches, who work with aspiring, high performing individuals and teams.

What is involved?

The me:my™team method is a tried and tested approach to working with teams and is powerfully enabled by the me:my™team online diagnostic which assesses how a unique group of people are delivering a specific project, programme or objective, today. The contributions from participants are non-attributable. me:my™team pays attention to the 6M factors which are critical to success, both for business logical and human engagement reasons. If you want to track progress and measure the outcomes, while intervening in a more impactful way, use me:my™team! Here is how the complexity of team interventions can begin to be simplified using theme:my™team method with the me:my™team diagnostic:

  1. Meet with the team and leader to agree the contract and ways of working.
  2. Set up a session with the team to agree the context (project, programme or objective to be examined).
  3. Define the key question which the team wants to ask itself (e.g. How are we delivering today?).
  4. Brief the team on the diagnostic and what to expect within the tool to gain best insights.
  5. Gather the team members’ contributions.
  6. Debrief on the full set of results.
  7. Agree actions and next steps.
  8. Progress a series of coaching interventions, paying attention to the 6M factors.
  9. Track progress over time by repeating the survey – this could be done ‘pre and post’ your intervention or at interim periods as preferred
  10. An optional additional input can also be gained by using the me:my™teamfeedback diagnostic which invites valuable stakeholder perspectives for you and the team to consider  and underpin ultimate progress and success.

The output for the team is:

  • Delivery of the business objective through significantly enhanced team performance
  • A shared language and process for improved team working
  • A complete set of results against the me:my™team model to show current state and progress
