Sharing Stories of Exploring Potential
This year’s theme from the International Coaching Federation is ‘Explore Your Potential,’ and we have asked our valued alumni community to share stories pertaining to that theme. We will also release a special Coaching in Conversation podcast episode exploring this theme with alumni member Kate Wendleboe.
We are excited to share testimonies from our alumni coaches about the impact that coaching has had in their personal and professional lives.
Here’s what a few of our alumni had to say:
‘It has certainly been a privilege to support clients in their growth. However, what I wasn’t expecting in becoming a coach myself was the opportunity it would bring me to explore my own potential.’
—Ann Hiett, ACC
‘The coachee is empowered as the reflections are self-managed, and the coach is empowered as they are freed from the pressures of feeling the need to be the bearer of answers and solutions. This is how a coaching relationship nurtures and leverages the potential of both the coach and the coachee. And this is how, ultimately, the bond between coach and coachee strengthens.’
— Rodrigo Acevedo, PCC
‘We are all experts in our own lives, but we are also all works in progress. So in this complex and uncertain world, sometimes we all need support to release our inner resources to solve problems or see our goals clearly. Sometimes we just feel ‘stuck’ and are unsure how to move forward. Other times we feel we are being held back in life or work but cannot see how to break down those barriers. Sometimes, as in my case, the person holding us back is ourself!’
